Somatic Yoga with Aimee Takaya
In this episode Seiji OshenZa has invited a guest onto the show, his cousin and co-founder of the Takaya Institute, Aimee Takaya. Together they will discuss one of the different kinds of Somatics modalities that have sprung from Clinical Somatic Education: Somatic Yoga. Somatic Yoga is a new way of approaching this ancient practice by teaching students how to work WITH the biomechanics of their own bodies instead of AGAINST, for profound healing and gaining of consciousness.
Aimee will give instructions in Somatic Yoga that viewers can practice at home for optimal range of movement, flexibility, strength and joyousness in their bodies.
About Aimee:
Aimee Takaya is a Hanna Somatic Educator in training as well as a Somatic Yoga Instructor. She grew up in Ashland Oregon, where she discovered the transformative effects of yoga at 19 years old. She followed her passions, teaching Yoga around the world for several years, but ended up with a hip injury and pain as a result of practicing Yoga intensely and pushing her body to its limits.
She discovered Somatics through her Father and began practicing the movements daily to reduce pain and regain mobility in her left hip. She has been teaching Somatic Movement for 3+ years now and incorporates somatic principles and functional movement patterns into her Yoga classes.
Aimee is smart, charming, knowledgeable and an all-round loving human being. She is a devoted mother and a highly competent instructor in Somatic Healing Arts.
It is recommended to be in a calm and quiet environment for doing somatics. Movements should be done gently without triggering unnecessary discomfort. Wear comfortable clothing. Drink plenty of water. Treat your body kindly.

About This Series:
Chronic muscular pain is an epidemic all over the world. There are many ways to deal with chronic pain but most modalities don’t go to the root cause of the problem, which actually lies in the habit-forming brain.
Enter Clinical Somatic Education: A unique healing modality that uses the already built-in neurological functions of the body to create lasting pain relief, a higher quality of life and regained freedom of movement.
Seiji OshenZa, a certified Clinical Somatic Educator, offers his viewers a way out of chronic pain and habitual muscular tension by teaching them the Art of Pandiculation. A movement technique that literally reprograms the brain to release chronic muscular tension quickly and easily, with long lasting effects.
On the show he offers clear instructions on how to deal with lower back pain, shoulder tension, sciatic problems and many other such conditions in an effort to help humanity to harness their own innate healing powers and to put a stop to this spreading epidemic of chronic pain.
Along with live demonstrations of this revolutionary modality, Seiji will be interviewing other notable Somatic Practitioners from around the world to further promote somatic awareness and understanding.
His message: There is a path to freedom and it’s already inside you.
