"Ending the Trance" - Season 5 Episode 11
It may be useful to consider many of our automatic pilot states, and many of our identities as 'trances.' These programs seem to run by themselves, outside of our conscious volition. But as we develop spaciousness, calm alertness, and mindful presence, we can begin to recognize and see beyond our trance states of being. But what trances us in the first place? Whenever we have not had the opportunity or the skillfully digest our experience, trancing out (just like the way you feel after eating too much) smooths the ride. Again, we use Kum Nye practice which helps us to more fully 'digest' experience, and to create more space around our trance states.
