Guest Donna Martin
In this week's episode we explore the practice of Psoma Yoga with Donna Martin. Donna has been cultivating Psoma Yoga Over the past 20 years, based on her 50 year experience as a yoga instructor and her close collaboration with Ron Kurtz, creator of the Refined Hakomi Method.
It is always a joy to spend time with Donna; each of our interviews have been both nourishing and inspiring. Psoma yoga incorporates body centred practice, with an awareness that our embodiment, and our belief systems are deeply interwoven.
This week, we begin to explore the relationship between embodiment and belief. One foundation of the practice of Psoma Yoga is the practice of Ahimsa, or non-violence. In a nutshell, as we develop the capacity to observe our embodied states, we can also develop a kind curiosity. Letting go of the need to fix or change, we can playfully experiment with new ways to see and experience life that are potentially nourishing.
Donna is the author of several books, most recently,’ published ‘Loving Presence’, and is currently about to publish her Psoma Yoga Text.
About Season 4 - "Awake in the Body"
This season, through conversations with body centered practitioners, yoga teachers, and teachers of mindfulness and non-dual wisdom, let’s weave our way through the skillful means to touch to and awaken the wisdom and nourishment available through the body. Ever mindful of a broad cultural denial of the body, we share pieces of our own journeys, and offer skills to help awaken us to our own wisdom.
In this strange time that surrounds us, we are looking everywhere for answers, for the truth, the facts, and ways to safely navigate. More and more of us turn within, and begin to trust the wisdom within, moving beyond the divided world of facts, to the wholeness of the heart.
